Janice Carol Howard

Janice Carol Howard, age 67 of Hope Arkansas passed away peacefully on Nov 9, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Care Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Janice was born in Prescott, Arkansas to J.C. & and Ruth Howard and spent her early years in Prescott. She is preceded in death by her parents and an older sister Frances Howard Milinowski. She is survived by her remaining sibling Barbara Howard Batson of Memphis TN as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Janice was challenged by cerebral palsy but never allowed her disability to affect her enjoyment of life. She loved to travel – and was always up for a new adventure – camping, concerts, cruises, pontoon boat rides. She squeezed everything from life that she could.

Janice spent many years in the Arkansas Children’s Colony in Arkadelphia AR. Later she moved to Rainbow of Challenges/School of Hope. She lived in an assisted living apartment through the Rainbow of Challenges and worked in the ROC workshop. A large part of her happiness was the lasting friendship she developed with a caregiver at ROC – Karen Moody became more of a sister than a worker and Janice spent weekends and holidays with Karen and Karen’s family. Karen’s mother Mary McAteer called Janice her bonus daughter. It’s difficult to express how much their kindness enriched Janice’s life.

Janice’s memorial service will be Saturday, Nov 22, at 2:00 pm in the Brazzel Oakcrest Funeral Home, 1001 Main Street, Hope AR.

Janice was a member of Southside Missionary Baptist Church in Hope. AR. Her love for others was best displayed by her love of giving gifts. She loved to make others happy.
