Nevada County election filings announced

PRESCOTT – The Preferential Election filings in Nevada County have been released for the March 2026 election.
In uncontested countywide races, with all filers running as Republican. Non-incumbent Cassie Tolliver filed for Circuit Clerk, Non-incumbent Leigh Loe filed for Coroner, Tammie Rose filed for County Clerk, Michael Otwell filed for County Judge, Danny Martin filed for Sheriff/Collector, and Miccah Sargent filed as non-incumbent for Treasurer.
Larry Miller, filed for Tax Assessor as a Republican, and Beronica Tolliver-Parrish filed as an Independent. That race will be decided in the November 2026 General Election.
Incumbent Democrat Nelson Irizarry is unopposed for Constable for Alabama Township, Republican Incumbent Micah Stockton is unopposed for Constable Albany Township, as is Republican Incumbent Ryan McBrayer for Emmet Township Constable.
In the Justices of the Peace races, Republican incumbent Dennis Pruitt is unopposed for District 1. Democrat incumbent Willie Wilson is unopposed. District 3 Democrat Patricia Grimes in unopposed, Republican incumbent James Roy Cornelius is unopposed in District 4. Eric Jackson, Republican incumbent is unopposed in District 5, and District 6 Democrat incumbent Herbert Coleman is unopposed. In District 7, Republican Judy Oltmer is challenging Republican incumbent Regina Irizarry. District 8 Republican incumbent Todd Butler and District 9 incumbent Republican Tommy Poole are both unopposed.
For the Prescott City Council, Ward 1 Position 1 Democrat incumbent Satarria Williams, Ward 1 Position 2 Democrat incumbent Ivory Curry, Democrat Ward 2 Position 1 incumbent Howard Austin, Ward 2 Position 2 Democrat incumbent Carolyn Todd are all unopposed. Non-incumbent Republican Megan Horton is unopposed for Ward 3 Position 1, Ward 3 Position 2 Democrat incumbent Carla Haynie is unopposed, Ward 4 Position 1 Democrat incumbent Tony Gillard unopposed, and Ward 4 Position 2 Democrat Patricia Roberts has no opponent.
Incumbent Prescott Republican Mayor Terry Oliver and Democrat City Recorder incumbent John Miller are both unopposed.
In the non-partisan Nevada School Board positions for Zones 1, 2, and 4, incumbents Lasonia Standoak, Davis Barr, and Chris Fore are all unopposed.
In the non-partisan Prescott School Board positions, Zone 3 incumbent Jason Kisselburg will face JoBeth Glass. Zone 4 incumbent Eric Gonzales will face challengers Mae Lewis and Denise Walker. A new member will be elected for Zone 5 between Emily Jackson and Valarie Cobb.
Non-partisan school board races will be determined in the March 2026 election.
