Arkansas State Police K-9 Dies, Spent Last Years Serving Troop G

Retired Arkansas State Police K-9 Rocco passed away on December 3, 2025, surrounded by his Trooper family, just twelve days short of his 12th birthday. Rocco, a German Shepherd, began his career with the Arkansas State Police in 2015. He was first handled by Cpl. Brandon Trewyn of Troop B, and in 2019, Cpl. Bernard Pettit of Troop G became his handler.
Throughout his career, Rocco and his handlers served on the Interstate Criminal Patrol Team. Rocco was instrumental in the seizure of more than 564 lbs. of marijuana, 6.2 lbs. of cocaine, 123 lbs. of methamphetamine, and over $500,000 in suspected drug proceeds. He officially retired from the ASP on June 16, 2023.
