Nevada County Quorum Court

The Nevada County Quorum Court met on Tuesday (12-9).  After a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, there was a roll call.  All were present.  The JP’s approved the last meeting’s minutes and financial statement.

Stacey Stone of the Cooperative Extension Service was present to give the quorum court the results from the recent North American International Livestock Expo in Louisville Kentucky. Stone noted the Nevad County Team represented Arkansas in the Livestock Quiz Bowl and took 5th place overall.

The Court passed a budget ordinance for 2026.  Stacey Stone pointed out the money budgeted for the extension office was less than normal.  Normally the extension office would receive $30,000 from the county and state combined. This was rectified and the budget ordinance passed after being amended.  The meeting was then adjourned.
