Hope Lions Distribute Christmas Baskets

The Hope Lions Club, joined by members of the Evening Lions, distributed Christmas baskets of food for needy families in Hempstead County on Monday (12-15).  The club funds the annual distribution through their annual Christmas auction which traditionally held the first week of December.  The club generally distributes about 125 baskets.

The club orders the components of the baskets in bulk locally and then meet to put the baskets together.  After the baskets are compiled, club members choose baskets to deliver.

The Hope Lions say a heartfelt “thank you” to the community, auction patrons, and local businesses who help make the distribution possible.  The Lions Club has been distributing the Christmas baskets since 1950.
