Blevins School board December metting

BLEVINS – Blevins School Board convened Monday evening for its regular session, calling the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Board members were present for the start of proceedings, which opened with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

The board first addressed administrative business, voting unanimously to approve the minutes from the Nov.10, 2025, meeting with an amendment clarifying a previously recorded second to a motion related to a computer science educator bonus. Members then approved the district’s Nov. 30, 2025 financial report, also by a unanimous 4–0 vote.

District leadership provided several updates, including a report on school security. Officials noted the district now has two commissioned security officers on campus.

The board also received instructional and accountability updates. Administrators highlighted Act 1082, describing it as providing additional support for the district’s literacy and reading efforts, and shared an overview of school activities and academic status. The district’s current student enrollment was reported as 344.
A curriculum update included a review of the district’s ESSA letter grade and the factors used to calculate it. The superintendent concluded the update portion of the meeting by reminding board members of upcoming school board association training opportunities.

The meeting adjourned at 7:11 pm.
