Hope School Board December Meetings
Hope School Board had two meetings during December. During the first the purchase of cargo van for $10,000 was approved using child nutrition funds. The van is to be used by the Technology department and other departments as needed. The meeting then adjourned.
The Hope Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Garland
Campus with President Alvis Hamilton presiding. The following members were present: Alvis Hamilton,
Jimmy Courtney, Bill Hoglund, Lakesha Jones, Nathaniel Holyfield, and Margaret Moss. David “Bubba”
Powers was absent.
On a motion by Margaret Moss, seconded by Jimmy Courtney, the board approved the consent
agenda. Motion carried 6-0. The consent agenda included approval of minutes and approval of
expenditures.
Superintendent Jonathan Crossley recognized award recipients during the Superintendent’s Awards
and Recognition presentation. Ashley Stewart, Principal of Clinton Primary, presented student, staff,
parent, and community partner recognitions highlighting academic engagement, instructional
excellence, student support, parental involvement, and community contributions.
Superintendent Crossley provided an academic update and shared district growth data, noting
instructional strengths, areas for improvement, and strategies focused on student ownership,
collaboration, and consistent instructional feedback.
A fundraising and booster report was presented by Holly Hooker on behalf of the band booster
organization, outlining volunteer involvement, fundraising efforts, financial transparency, and student
support initiatives.
Superintendent Crossley provided an informational update regarding ongoing millage conversations
focused on community engagement, transparency, and long-term facility and safety needs. No action
was taken.
On a motion by Bill Hoglund, seconded by Jimmy Courtney, the board approved the recommendation
for the installation of an electronic gate at the bus barn in the amount of $17,275. Motion carried 6-0.
On a motion by Bill Hoglund, seconded by Jimmy Courtney, the board approved the purchase of
laptops for resource officers from White River Services Solutions in the amount of $4,116.95. Motion
carried 6-0.
Desktop devices and monitors were approved for computer science and Driver’s Edge classes as well.
The personnel packet was approved as presented. This included both a teacher replacement and a classified position replacement.
