Hope Civitan Club Hosts Pastors Appreciation Dinner

The Hope Civitan Club hosted its annual Pastors’ Appreciation Dinner on Tuesday night, February 10, at Dos Locos Gringos in Hope, continuing a long-standing local tradition of honoring area clergy. During the program, Hope Mayor Don Still presented a city proclamation recognizing this week as Hope Civitan Week in appreciation of the club’s community service. Several ministers and their families were in attendance, and retired pastor Phil McLarty delivered a message reflecting on the heroic sacrifice of the Four Chaplains, whose 1943-legacy has long inspired Civitan observances. McLarty also encouraged local clergy to consider forming a renewed ministerial alliance to serve the local community.
