Grass Fire on US 278 East of Hope
A grass fire broke out on US 278 just east of the Hope city limits Sunday (2-22) around 3:30pm. A number of departments responded including the Southeast Volunteer Fire Department, Hope Fire Department, Perrytown VFD, Guernsey VFD, Fulton VFD, Patmos VFD, Spring Hill VFD, and the Arkansas Forestry Commission. The fire burned into some yards but apparently caused no structural damage.
Fire danger is high as the area has been dried out by the recent high winds. Residents are urged to refrain from burning until adequate rain falls.
