Bobbie Jean English
Bobbie Jean English, 83, of Hope, Arkansas, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on February 10, 2026. She was born on April 4, 1942, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to the late R.C. and Arie Lee Taylor. She was one of five children.
As a young girl, her family relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she graduated from Fremont High School. She began her career at Libbey’s Glass and later returned to Hope, Arkansas, where she worked for Tyson Foods.
On June 14, 1964, she was united in Holy Matrimony to James Louis English. They shared a loving and devoted marriage until his passing.
Affectionately known as “Moma” and “Granny,” Bobbie was the matriarch of her family. She was the family’s fashionista, known for her one-of-a-kind hats and vibrant, colorful designs. Bobbie had a deep love for her family and found joy in crafting, sewing, and knitting. Her hands were rarely still, and her creations were expressions of the love she carried for those around her.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Louis English; her parents, R.C. and Arie Lee Taylor; her son, James Eezon English; her brothers, Robert Taylor and Edwin Taylor; and several loved ones who welcomed her home.
Bobbie leaves behind a legacy overflowing with love. Her devoted children: Barry (JoeAnn) English of Fort Worth, Texas; Larry (Larcie) English of Irving, Texas; Dezon (Karen) English of Wichita, Kansas; and her daughter-in-law, Shelia English of Terrell, Texas. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren, nearly eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Bobbie is also survived by her sisters, Debbie Carrigan of Hope, Arkansas, and Betty (David) Jones of Delmar, Delaware; her sister-in-laws, Arnold Taylor of Inglewood, CA, Mary Nell Miller Graves (Obray) of San Angelo, Texas, Novella English of Hope, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Her strength, wisdom, and love will continue to live on in every life she touched.
The Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 am. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Hwy 332, Deann/Hope, AR 71801. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 4571 -4609 AR-29, Hope Ar 71801.
