Hope Bobcat Baseball Tournament Report

On Thursday, March 5th, the Hope Bobcat Baseball squad traveled to Hot Springs to play tournament ball at the iconic Majestic Park. In a two-game sprint on the same day, the Bobcats played the Horatio Lions and the Murfreesboro Rattlers, playing out highly competitive games but losing both, 7-3, 7-2. Starring for the Bobcats were Austin Courtney and Sam Johnson. Austin Courtney put on a brilliant display during the tournament with an RBI scoring double vs. Horatio, a double and a single against Murfreesboro, as well as an amazing pitching performance against Murfreesboro tallying eight strikeouts. Sam Johnson, on the other hand, opted to be a defensive powerhouse by accumulating six putouts vs. Horatio, and seven more vs. Murfreesboro, bringing a strong defensive edge to the team. To begin this week’s campaign, the Bobcats will face their rivals the Prescott Curley Wolves this Tuesday on March 10th in a high thrills game.
