Hope Lions Hear from Hope Schools Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Crossley

The Hope Lions Club heard a program from Dr. Jonathan Crossley spoke on the topic of “Cradle to Careers”. He noted elementary literacy in the Hope schools has risen 13 percentage points in the last two years. That ranks within the top ten percent of growth in literacy in the state. Dr. Crossley also noted there has never been as many, percentage wise, students graduating “success ready”. This puts Hope High in the Top 10 for students graduating career ready. He cited the collegiate academy as one of the reasons. The collegiate academy will have around 125 students next year. The program can take up to 150 students and they hope to “max out” enrollment in the future. Dr. Crossley also noted they have 84 students at UAHT working a skilled trade certificate. That’s 10 more students than last year. He also noted the high school’s letter grade score has risen from an “F” to a “C”. Enrollment in the district is approximately 2,100 students.
