This Sunday, March 29, is Palm Sunday, which leads into Holy Week, culminating in Easter. Palm Sunday celebrates the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, riding on a donkey.
First United Methodist Church of Hope invites everyone to remember, celebrate, and worship Jesus for his love of humanity, shown through the sacrifice of his own life. A Palm Sunday service at FUMC will begin at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at 301 South Elm in Hope.
The service will feature a procession of children and choir members waving palms, alluding to the crowds who did so while shouting “Hosanna” as Jesus entered the city. All are welcome to attend, to experience and celebrate the beginning of Holy Week with First United Methodist Church.
Other Holy Week activities at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church include:
FUMC Maundy Thursday service, 4:30 p.m., including Holy Communion, open to all.
Good Friday, The Stations of the Cross, St. Mark’s Episcopal, Friday, 6:30 p.m.
