A short -lived storm that blew through Hope about 3 pm left damage on South Hazel and South Laurel. The carport attached to the Gloria McFadden home on South Hazel tore into several pieces and blew around that property. At 808 South Laurel, Mary Stuckey had a large oak tree limb resting on her house. The house next door at 810 South Laurel had an oak tree blown onto it. The tree covered three cars in the driveway. It was hard to figure out the damage while the tree covered the vehicles. No injuries were reported.
