Good crowds greet Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics along route in Hope

HOPE – The mid-May weather may have been unpredictable with rain in the area, but it was all warm smiles from those who participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics as it wound its way through the streets of Hope.

The torch is on its way to the state Special Olympics competition, held annually at Harding University in Searcy, which begins Thursday, May 21.

The local group that participated was composed of many area law enforcement personnel, joined by local runners and several individuals who represented Rainbow of Challenges.

The runners stopped briefly for water and pictures at ROCOH before making their way to Prescott where the torch was handed off on its trek to Searcy.

We at ROCOH wish our local Special Olympians a safe trip and much success this weekend!
