HOPE – The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) has named Dorene Mosier as its 2026 Alumna of the Year, recognizing her outstanding professional achievements, leadership, and dedication to serving individuals with developmental disabilities throughout southwest Arkansas.
Mosier graduated from UAHT in 1997 with an Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration and has continued her education at the college, pursuing an Associate of Arts in General Education.
For more than 25 years, Mosier has been a driving force at Rainbow of Challenges, Inc. (ROC/PNC/OH), an organization dedicated to helping individuals with developmental disabilities achieve the highest possible level of personal independence. Since joining the organization in 1999, she has served in a variety of leadership positions, including Residential Coordinator, Director of Career Development, and Vice President of Residential Services.
In her current role, Mosier oversees residential programs that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, coordinating multiple group homes and residential facilities across the region. Her leadership, compassion, and commitment to those she serves have strengthened the organization’s impact and improved the quality of life for countless individuals and families.
“Dorene embodies the values of service, leadership, and lifelong learning that define the UAHT alumni community,” her nomination letter stated. “Her professional accomplishments and dedication to improving the lives of others make her a deserving recipient of this honor.”
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Mosier is an active volunteer and advocate for Special Olympics Arkansas. As an Area Director, she organizes and coordinates athletic competitions for children and adults and coaches athletes competing at the state level. Her commitment to the Special Olympics movement earned her a role helping lead Arkansas athletes at the U.S. Games, further demonstrating her passion for service and inclusion.
Throughout her career and volunteer work, Mosier has earned the respect of colleagues, community leaders, and those she serves through her unwavering advocacy, dedication, and commitment to helping others reach their full potential.
The UAHT Alumna of the Year Award recognizes graduates who have distinguished themselves through professional achievement, community service, and contributions that positively reflect the mission and values of the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana.
Mosier’s impact on her community, the state of Arkansas, and the lives of countless individuals makes her an exceptional representative of UAHT and its tradition of excellence.
