Mae Dulaney retires as director of Hope in Action food bank

HOPE – After 28 years of service, Mae Dulaney has retired from her position as director of the Hope in Action food bank. Thursday, June 25, was her final day to be on hand to provide supplemental foodstuffs to local residents, or persons passing through Hope, who were experiencing difficulties in having enough to eat.

Mae is pictured, at center, above, with a few members of the Hope in Action Board of Directors— volunteer Twyla Pruden, HIA Executive Director Paul Henley, Val Knight, and Helen Byers, director of HIA 2 homeless shelter. Board members not pictured include Freddie Smith, Casey Curtis, and Mike Malek.

Both HIA 1 and 2 will be closed for an annual maintenance and repair shutdown July 1-14, reopening on July 15. In the interim, a search will be conducted for a new director of HIA 1; interested persons for that position— or to serve as volunteers — should contact Paul Henley or a board member. Congratulations on a job well done and best wishes for happy retirement go out to Mrs. Dulaney!
