Mr. Randolph Jackson, 79, of Prescott, Arkansas, formerly of Chidester, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at Christus St. Michael Health Care System in Texarkana on the evening of June 30, 2026. He was a lifetime resident of Southwest Arkansas who loved his wife, Mrs. Ollie Marie Box-Jackson, his children and his siblings. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, and fish. He was also noted to be an outstanding basketball player in his younger years and spent quite a bit of time watching skating on T.V.
Mr. Jackson was born the late Mr. Persel Jackson and the late Mrs. Lyria Tate-Jackson in Chidester, Arkansas on December 8, 1946, and was the eldest of his siblings. He spent his formative years in the Chidester area and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1966. He went on to attend Arkansas AM&N where he would become a Certified Auto Mechanic, graduating from there in 1969. After leaving Arkansas AM&N, he went on to join the Army and on December 29, 1972, he married the love of his life, Ms. Ollie Marie Box. The two would go on to share a loving marriage of fifty-three years. During those years of marriage, he provided for his household by being employed at Potlatch Lumber in Prescott, Arkansas, as a logger in the local area and more than twenty-five years at Firestone in Prescott, Arkansas where he was employed until he retired.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by both parents, and two siblings, Brenda Louise Jackson and Nathan L. Jackson. He leaves to cherish his many memories, his wonderful wife of fifty-three years, Mrs. Ollie Marie Box-Jackson. Two children, Ms. Alisha Jackson (Christina) of Lavergne, Tennessee, and Ms. Lakeltra Box of Texarkana, Texas. Two brothers, Mr. Thomas Jackson of Chidester, Arkansas and Mr. Henry (Juanita) Jackson of Tollette, Arkansas. Three grandchildren, Nykeri Muldrew, Leyani Muldrew, and Drayden Harden. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former co-workers.
His service will be held at Ward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 323 E. Laurel St. Prescott, Arkansas 71857 on Saturday July 11, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. where Pastor Linda Butler will serve as Officiant and Eulogist. Public visitation will be on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. just prior to his service. There will be a traditional viewing after the eulogy. Interment will be immediately following the service at New Salem Cemetery, 8030 US-278, Rosston, Arkansas 71858.
