Norman McKinnon, age 73, of Prescott, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026, after losing his battle to Cancer that he has been fighting like a warrior, since 2017.
Norman was a Farm Manager/Keeper at Willow Oak Acres in Prescott, Arkansas for approximately 14 years. He then became a Log Truck Driver, a Pipe Liner, and before his retirement, he was a Farm Helper.
Norman also served on the Prescott Police Department as a part-time officer and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office as a Reserve Deputy. He loved protecting and serving others. He helped anyone that he could! That’s one trait that he passed down to his daughter who is now a Police Officer.
He loved hunting with his family at Howard Creek Hunting Club, in his “younger days”, he loved the game of golf, but most of all, his passion was horses and horse back riding. Norman passed down his love for horses through at least 3 generations of family but also passed down his love for horses with the community! Most would say he was the definition of a “True Cowboy!”
Norman is survived by his wife of 16 years, Beverly Yancey. His daughters, Mae McKinnon, Dani (Michael) Brutsch, and Kimberly (Kevin) Carlton. His son, Jason (Amy) Patrick.
Grand Children- Patrick McKinnon, Tyler (Hannah) Tamberelli, Hailey Patrick, Jason Jr (Mazi) Patrick, Rocco Patrick, and Jacob Carlton.
Great Grand Children- Layla Tamberelli, Jacey Tamberelli, and Baby Girl Hedge on the way.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy (David) Dougan, his brother, David (Penny Oliver) McKinnon, and his brother, Neil (Chandra) McKinnon. And 2 special 1st cousins, Vernon (Sue) McKinnon and Bob McKinnon who were like Brothers to him.
Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, church family and friends.
He is proceeded in death by, his parents Fred & Ruby (Mauldin) McKinnon, his brother Glenn McKinnon, his sisters Minnie Sue Hall and Mary Jo Hendrix.

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Missionary Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Neal Ridling and Bro. Jody Almand officiating. Burial was at Nubbin Hill Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home, The Funeral Home of Prescott, Ben Brazzel, Director.
