Spring Hill School Board

The Spring Hill School Board met Monday (7-20).  After the previous meeting’s minutes and the financial statement were reviewed, the board reviewed and passed a motion to renew a contract with a campus SRO.  The audit report was reviewed by Dr. Peter Maggio, Assistant Superintendent.  The board also discussed Blocksy, a program which alerts both principals if any students look up anything inappropriate.

It was noted Chromebook prices have skyrocketed and the cost will be $111,155 for 215 Chromebooks whereas the district paid approximately $70,000 the last time news ones were ordered.  The board discussed purchasing the same dollar amount as previously or buying 215 as a cost of over $111 thousand dollars. The board voted to continue with the 3-year plan and buy 215 again this year.

The board approved expenditures on other instructional materials including Great Minds, and IXL.  The Hudl contract was renewed along with South Central Coop facilities consortium, a heating and air replacement with Jones Heating and Air and the school property insurance.  

Cafeteria vendor bids were approved and cafeteria prices for the 2026-27 school year were approved.

The board voted to accept the resignation of Mrs. Shirley McGill from the cafeteria.  There board voted to hire Ashley Cox to fill the roll.  The board also voted to hire Shelby Rose as part time help in the cafeteria.  The board went into executive session to discuss a personnel issue, with no action taken.  Afterword, the meeting was adjourned.
