Alan Wayne Bohanon
May 30, 1962 – July 18, 2026
Alan Wayne Bohanon, age 64, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on May 30, 1962, to Iris Byers Bohanon and Wayne Bohanon.
Alan lived life on his own terms — a free spirit who moved through the world with confidence and character. For over 25 years, he worked as a long-haul truck driver, logging countless miles across the United States and building a life rich with experience and the kind of stories only the open road can provide. He knew people in high places and low places alike and was loved by everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
In his final year, Alan embraced a life of comfort and joy, cherishing time spent traveling with his family — memories that those who shared them will carry always. His bond with family was deep and lasting, and it defined the man he was.
Alan is survived by his sister, Dana Lockard, of Oklahoma City; his brother, John Bohanon (Steve Paxton), of Benton, Arkansas; his nephew, Jonathan Lockard (Mandy); his great-nephew, Landon Lockard, of Seminole, Oklahoma; his niece, Mandy Lockard; and his stepmother, Charlotte Bohanon, of Saratoga, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Iris Byers Bohanon and Wayne Bohanon.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 24th at 10:00 AM at Shover Springs Baptist Church, 110 Hempstead 54, Hope, 71801. All family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Shover Springs Church in Alan’s memory.
“He knew people in high places and low places and was loved by all.
