HOPE – On Thursday, August 6th, 2026, at 1:27pm, detectives arrested Kevin Lozano, 19 of Hope, AR in
the 900 block of South Elm Street, pursuant to a warrant issued from the 8th North Circuit Court
for the offenses of Murder 1st Degree and Battery 1st Degree.
This arrest is the result of an investigation into the July 17th, 2026 shooting death of Gabriel
Trujillo Garcia of Paris, TX in which a juvenile female was also shot but survived. The incident
occurred in the 1000 block of West 7th Street.
Lozano was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where he will be held
pending a first court appearance. This case remains actively under investigation.
