Forest Fire – Highway 368
At approximately 3:25 p.m. Tuesday (8-11), Nevada County Fire & Rescue was toned to a reported forest fire on Highway 368 toward Reader.
Upon arrival, firefighters located a fire burning through juvenile pine trees with heavy vegetation and overgrowth. Due to the dense terrain and limited access, firefighters were unable to safely reach the fire directly.
The Arkansas Forestry Commission was requested to assist with the incident. The fire ultimately consumed approximately 240 acres of forestland.
