ROSSTON – Nevada High School is working in conjunction with Casey Carlton, owner of TriC Electric, to offer an Electrical Pre Apprenticeship Program. With this program, students can begin the process of becoming a Journeyman Electrician. Students may begin this program their junior year, and by the time they graduate high school, they will be able to test for their residential license.
This year, we have three students who are taking advantage of this program: Brandon Wilson, Logan Langston, and Colton Burns. This program is offered through the Department of Labor. Drake Givens is facilitating this program through our Ag Powers pathway. We are thankful for the partnerships we have with our local businesses to be able to offer programs like this to our students. We would like to expand this program by adding HVAC and plumbing.
