Mrs. Catherine Thomas, 94, of Tollette, Arkansas transitioned on August 22, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas at Christus St. Michael’s Hospital. Mrs.Thomas, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Humanitarian, and Community and Political Activist, went home to be with her loving Savior Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Thomas served as Mayor of Tollette, Arkansas for two, four-year terms, was the owner of Tri-County Community Day Care Centers for over 40 years, and was a major force for change in the city of Tollette.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her children: daughters Vernita T. Humphrey (Marion), Juanita Jackson (Haley), and Analyn Denise Thomas; six sons Leslie Thomas, Jr. (Gail), Kenneth Thomas, Kevin Thomas (Tiny), Jerry Thomas (Rejane), Alvin Dennis Thomas, and Allen Daniel Thomas; and two stepdaughters Lessie Mae Holloway and Dorothy Lou Hatchett both of Arizona. She is also survived by her sister-in-love, Mary Lee Burris, and her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The visitation/wake will be Friday, September 4, 2026, at Tollette First Church of God from 5-7 pm and the Celebration of Life will be Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Tollette First Church of God at 11:00 am.
