Pictured: Decayed siding removed from front of home
HOPE – Good news arrived on Tuesday, September 8 to the leadership of the Bill Clinton Birthplace Home. A team came from Hot Springs National Park and immediately began removing the aged wooden siding from the exterior of the structure. Carpenters will continue pulling the rotten lumber off on each of the four sides before new siding is installed on the ca. 1918 home which
President Clinton lived in with his grandparents. Home leadership say the entire structure will then receive a much-deserved fresh coat of paint.
These are not the only improvements currently being made at the presidential home. While the wood siding was coming off, a National Park backhoe was near the parking lot entrance to the property working on a new sidewalk. One other classy addition to the grounds of the garden is a new flagpole, erected sometime over the summer.
Over the coming weeks, glance over at the Bill Clinton Birthplace to keep up with these and more upgrades. Can’t wait to see the place in a snazzy new paint job.
