FULTON – The Fulton Town Council met on 9-14. The meeting was kicked off with a prayer at 6:31 PM. There was a roll call, with all but one present. The previous meeting’s minutes were reviewed and approved, after a correction was noted. Mayor Henry Hale gave the water/sewer report. For the underpass that floods, Mayor Hale said that wire mesh was placed on the sides and “rip rap” was placed on top. James Lamb asked who “WaterTech” was, to which Mayor Hale said that is where the city gets the chlorine for the water from. There was a passed motion to accept the water/sewer report.
The city’s financial report was presented by Francis Hendrix. James Lamb asked why the city had to pay the municipal fund. Mrs. Hendrix said that was for the county to pick up the trash. There was a passed motion to accept the financial report. John Pettit gave the fire department report. The money they have this month is $7,885.27. M&M Wrecker Service, in Prescott, donated two tires for the tanker truck for free. There was a passed motion to accept the fire department report.
Mayor Hale presented an auditor report to the Council. Mrs. Hendrix asked Mayor Hale if the Council needed to adjust the budget because the bank messed up transferring funds. Mayor Hale said he would have to call the bank and get back with her about that. There was a passed motion to accept the report. Chief John Pettit said that he talked to AEP and Pafford about installing a helipad in Fulton. That project is still in talks. Chief Pettit also talked to the county judge to see if the county could help with the bridge at the park. No action was taken on that. Mayor Hale said that there is a plan to put a concrete pad across the underpass, to prevent flooding. Mrs. Wanda Kootnz asked Mayor Hale if the city was going to hire a new street worker, as the previous one quit, due to a new job. Mayor Hale said not yet. The meeting was then adjourned.
