HOPE — Hope Downtown Network is partnering with First United Methodist Church of Hope to collect much-needed pantry items for Hope in Action during the fourth annual Taste of Hope on Saturday, October 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in downtown Hope.
This year’s Taste of Hope theme, “There’s No Place Like Hope,” celebrates the people, restaurants & eateries, small businesses and organizations that make the community special. The food drive offers guests another meaningful way to demonstrate the generosity and caring spirit for which Hope is known.
Attendees are encouraged to bring one or more of the following items:
• Large or small cans of soup
• SpaghettiOs, ravioli or other canned pasta
• Vienna sausages
• Spam
• Instant potatoes
• Dry beans or pinto beans
• Rice
• Canned carrots or sweet peas
• Canned fruit
• Instant dry milk
• Peanut butter
• Macaroni and cheese
Donations may be placed in the collection boxes near the beautiful wooden church that will be in view at the entryway to the event. First United Methodist Church volunteers will be available to assist with donations.
“Hope in Action serves neighbors throughout our community, and its pantry needs our help,” said Beckie Moore, Executive Director of Hope Downtown Network. “We invite everyone attending Taste of Hope to bring a few items from the list. When we each give a little, together we can make a tremendous difference.”
Taste of Hope will feature food tastings from local restaurants and eateries plus family activities throughout the night. Scan QR code (attached) to purchase tickets online. Tickets are also being sold in Rae-Tays, Vintage Girls, and Elm Street Marketplace.
