BLEVINS – The annual report to the public was given at 6 PM, Monday Sept 21.
The Blevins School Board Regular Meeting met at 6:30p.m. in the school cafeteria. The meeting opened with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. There were no public comments.
The board reviewed and approved the minutes from the previous meeting and the district’s financial report.
During new business, the district’s Gifted and Talented (GT) report was presented as part of the annual report to the public. Board members also discussed a board-to-board student transfer and reviewed and approved the 2026-27 school budget.
The board discussed the current School Board vacancy. At this time, the Quorum Court still has an opportunity to make an appointment before the matter returns to the School Board.
Minutes involving the personnel list were also reviewed and updated, with amended minutes approved to include the personnel list. The student handbook was amended after a policy was found to have been inadvertently left out.
The board received an update on the new football scoreboard, which is expected to be installed soon. Several HVAC issues within the district were also discussed. Superintendent Stephanie Dixon provided an update, noting that two new units have been purchased.
Board members approved Renaissance, a reading program for the district. An increase in substitute teacher pay was also presented and approved.
The board discussed moving future School Board meetings from the cafeteria to the school library. Board members agreed the library would provide a better setting for future meetings.
The district’s letter grade report was also discussed.
Following an executive session, the board approved the personnel list as presented.
