Shirley Ann Green, 89, of Prescott, AR, went to be with the Lord on October 4 at Hospice of Texarkana with her daughters by her side.
She was born August 16, 1937, in Smackover, AR., daughter of James A. and Helen Williams. Being the oldest child she helped her mother with the younger children. She married Imon Lee “Bob” Green on June 17, 1953, in Ouachita County Arkansas.
She was a homemaker for many years caring for their 4 girls, as well as other children in the neighborhood. She later worked as an egg gather at Koger Farms in Prescott and then went on to work at the Prescott Manufacturing Plant sewing pajamas.
She was a longtime member of Park Missionary Baptist Church where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher. She also served in many other areas of the church as well.
Shirley was a wonderful seamstress and made many items for her family and friends. She did alterations for numerous prom and pageant dresses. She loved hand embroidery and quilting. She was an avid reader of many types of books, but her favorite was a good mystery novel.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Imon “Bob” Green, daughter Nancy Smith, son-in-law David Smith, and her parents James A. and Helen Williams.
She is survived by 3 brothers James A. Williams and Carolyn of Hot Springs Village, AR, Doyle Williams and Mary Nell of Minden, La., Billy G. Williams and Edwina of Freerson, La. 2 sisters Mary Hobbs and Mac of Hosston, La. and Judy Deaton and John of Atlanta, Tx., 1 sister-in-law Marie Bussell. Her 3 daughters Sheila Harper and Ricky of Springhill, AR, Connie Martin and Gene of Prescott, AR and Leisa Green of Cove, AR. 11 grandchildren Melanie Tatom and Cameron of Stamps, AR, Andrew Harper and Crystal of Springdale, AR, Jason Harper and Montana of Prescott, AR, Zach Martin and Kaylea of Prescott, Meagan Brzeski and Vince of Prescott, AR, Cass Martin and Jason of New Orleans, La., Adam Wicker of Emmet, AR, Devon Craig of Mena, AR, Colin Smith and April of Bismarck, AR. Brandon Smith and Allen Smith both of Hot Springs, AR 23 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special friend and roommate at The Springs of Hillcrest Ms. Wanda Clemons, and her Park Missionary Church family.
Mamaw as she was known by her family, was very well loved and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service from 12:00- 1:00 PM at Park Missionary Baptist Church in Prescott, AR.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Park Missionary Baptist Church in Prescott, AR., under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home- Prescott.
Burial will follow at Caney Cemetery in Cale, AR.
