Hope Civitan Hears Program on Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center

Sheryl Martin with Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center recently spoke to the Hope Civitan Club.  Martin (left), a registered clinical social worker, covered various departments of the local hospital and answered questions from the club’s members.
She also presented information on the hospital improvement bond issue to be voted on in the November 3 election.  She said the issue will allow Hempstead County to access funding upfront for major capital needs, rather than waiting for sales tax revenue to build over time from the 3/4 cent sales tax — already approved by Hempstead County voters. She emphasized that the issue is not a new tax and there will be no change to the approved purpose of the tax already passed; the funds remain dedicated only to hospital improvements.  Martin is pictured with outgoing Civitan President Twyla Pruden.
