Deacon Dolphus “Dee Dee” Dismuke

Dolphus Dismuke, age 81, of Prescott, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2026, at the Blossom Rehab Center in Prescott. He was born on January 27, 1945, in Prescott, to the late Dolphus Dismuke Jr. and Vinnie Lee Jackson Hardamon.

At an early age, Dolphus began his Christian journey at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. He was a devoted and faithful member until his health began to decline over the years. During his time with the church, he served dutifully as a deacon and loved lifting his voice in the choir, where one of his favorite songs to sing was “Walk With Me.”

Dolphus was a proud graduate of the McRae High School Class of 1963 and remained very close with his classmates throughout his life. Following graduation, he relocated to Southern California, where he was employed and spent most of his adult years. He eventually returned home to Arkansas to be near his family, though he always enjoyed traveling back and forth to California to visit loved ones and old friends.

A skilled and talented mechanic, Dolphus had a passion for working on cars and was always willing to lend a hand to repair a vehicle for anyone in need. He also found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—talking with family and friends, playing dominoes and cards, and taking exciting trips to the Horseshoe Casino in Shreveport, where he delighted in sharing stories of his big winnings.

Dolphus was preceded in death by his parents, Dolphus Dismuke Jr. and Vinnie Lee Jackson Hardamon; one brother, Roy C. Prosper; one nephew, Anthony Wayne Shaw; four stepsisters; and five stepbrothers.

He leaves to cherish his memory his uncle, John Earl Jackson of Prescott, Arkansas; one aunt, Darlene Santos of Three Rivers, Michigan; one niece, Manette Shaw of California; and one sister-in-law, Joyce Bilberry of California. He is also survived by his special caregivers and cousins, Cedric Marks, Kathy Marks, Deacon Dale Gulley, and First Lady Sister Ola Mae Flowers, all of Prescott, Arkansas, along with a host of other cousins, relatives, classmates, and dear friends. Dolphus’s presence brought strength and warmth to everyone who knew him, and his legacy of faith, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life honoring Dolphus will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Prescott. His earthly body will be laid to rest at Sweet Home Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements with Brandon’s Mortuary.
