Fair Park History Unearthed

One of the favorite activities at Hope Fair Park (pre-1975), was swimming in the small children’s pool located near the tennis courts (which had not been built yet). Many a local resident remembers time spent in the kiddie pool and the large numbers of children in the pool enjoying a warm summer day. The City of Hope is in the process of constructing new tennis courts and pickleball courts near the site. Recently, equipment unearthed the spot where the children’s pool had been and found the concrete steps, walls and floor of the structure. A new, much smaller children’s pool near the Fair Park pool replaced this relic in more recent times.
