Carroll H. Byers, 85, of Hope, went home to be with his Lord on October 22, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas. He was born April 19, 1941, to Olin and Rachel (Gibson) Byers.
Carroll loved his family. When his girls were younger, he tried to attend every event, track meet, or sporting event in which they were involved. His voice could be heard cheering them on or yelling at the referees over everyone else. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye, and he would brag on them daily. His grandkids always loved his laugh because he laughed all over. He was excited to welcome his first great-grandbaby due in April.
He was a proud Army veteran and supported many veteran charities.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Claud and Roxie Self; and brothers, Charles, Bob, Marlin, Ronnie, and Roy Byers.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, of almost 63 years and his daughters, Sheila (Randall) Granberry of New Boston, Texas, Shannon (Jeff) Berry of El Dorado, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Taylor (Cohen) Bickley of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Ty (Tori) Granberry of Navarre, Florida; and Justin Berry of Fayetteville, Arkansas, one future great-grandbaby; one brother, Howard (Jan) Byers of Indiana; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hope in Action 2.
Funeral services will be held at Herdon-Fuqua Hope on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 2:00PM, with Pastor Nathaniel Crane and Pastor Jerry Crane officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Friendship Cemetery in Blevins, AR.
