Chamber scholarships available

PRESCOTT – Each year the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce offers two $250 scholarships to Nevada County seniors.

Applications are due by March 3 for those students interested. The applicants must be seniors in either the Prescott or Nevada school districts, have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to be considered, though preference will be given to those who have a GPA of 3.0 or better. The applicant must also plan on attending a two or four year college or technical school.

The application must include two letters of recommendation, with one being from a school counselor or teacher in their district and the other from a person in the student’s community or a church member.

Applicants must also write a paragraph on their career goals, and have community service hours with the Chamber. Applications are available with the counselors at each district.
