Prescott Man Arrested In Hope For Forgery

HOPE – A Prescott man, Robert Weaver, 22, was arrested Thursday afternoon for felony forgery.

At approximately 3:30pm, Hope Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of McDonald’s after a call from the restaurant regarding a counterfeit $50 bill. Upon their arrival, the subject had left but there was a good description of the vehicle they were in. Minutes later, a call from the EZ Mart on North Hervey came in, with a similar complaint and a description matching that of what McDonald’s had given.

Within minutes, a nearby Arkansas Highway Police officer stopped the vehicle on the Bypass, just east of Big Jakes. Mr. Weaver was placed into custody and transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility.
