New Technology Presented To HAPS Students

HOPE – Drew Walls, cofounder and director of sales/education for NWA3D, presented a tutorial on the applications and use of 3D printers which the Hope Academy of Public Service has put into use in its innovation laboratory.

The printers allow students to manufacture plastic prototype and useable parts for products such as an upcoming drone design challenge. As well, the machines provide educational into concepts such as the human heart with realistic three-dimensional models.

Students also learn computer coding skills required to program the machines to follow their design specifications.

Purchase of the printers was made possible by a $5,000 grant from the Georgia-Pacific Co. – Hope.image
