Hempstead County Master Gardeners Spring Seminar
HOPE – Well over 100 people turned out for the annual Hempstead County Master Gardeners Spring Seminar Monday (3/27) evening at Hempstead Hall.
The event opened with a number of vendor booths being open with everything from yard rakes to homemade soap and everything in between.
Hempstead County Master Gardeners President welcomed the crowd and then Debbie Trapp of the Rosemary Hill Herb Farm. The group also heard from Extension Horticulturist Janet Carson. Carson is a well-known radio and newspaper personality from Little Rock. Carson spoke on “Annuals and Perennials”. Ms. Carson said that her aim is to help people get into gardening. She discussed such plants as the “Lenten Rose”, pansies, flowering kale and cabbage, and snapdragons.
