Arts Council Sets ‘Works In Wood’ Showing
HOPE – Local woodworking artists will be featured in a gallery show sponsored by the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council.
“Works In Wood” will have its gallery opening Thursday from 5-7pm at the SWAAC Arts Station, 200 East Division Street, featuring a first-time showing by all male artists. Exhibits will include fishing lures, patterned wood wall-hangings, carved pieces, duck calls, serving pieces, vases, urns, furniture, engraved guns and gun stocks, engraved clocks and log-cabin lamps.
Some items will be exhibited for purchase, and inquiries can be made during the showing. The opening Thursday will include light refreshments and a wood patterned American flag crafted by local artist Greg Wolf will be raffled.
Admission is free and dress is casual.
The gallery showing will be open Tuesdays – Thursdays, from 11:00am to 1:00pm, April 4th through May 6th. Other showing times may be arranged for groups or individuals by calling 777-8200 and leaving information.
