Michael “Mike” Phillips

 Michael “Mike” Phillips, age 72, went home to his heavenly father, April 10, 2017. He was born in Magnolia, Arkansas on January 14, 1945 to Harold and Mable Phillips.
     Mike is survived by his wife Helen, son Zachary of Atkins, AR and wife Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother in law, Kathy and James Glass.
     Mike surrendered to preach and was the pastor of Shiloh Union Baptist Church in Buckner, Shiloh Lamartine in Waldo, Mt. Vernon in Waldo, and Mars Hill in Stamps.
     The example of Mike’s life is the greatest sermon he lived and preached. He was faithful to live, teach, and preach the Bible without adding to or ignoring scriptures unpopular today. Mike’s joy and smile came from a life devoted to God, family, and church.
     Funeral services will be at 2 PM Thursday, April 13 at First Baptist Church, Magnolia with Bro. David Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Lamartine Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
     Pallbearers will be Jesse Hurley, Jeff Triplet, Justin Hollensworth, Andy Hanson, Kyle Newton, and John Henry. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Edwards, Ed Nipper, Dee West, Thomas Pearson, Harvey Hall, and Terry Taylor.
    The family thanks the numerous people who pray for us and love us during this difficult time. We thank God for you.
