Lions honor first responders
PRESCOTT – There was a packed house at the Stokes Center Thursday evening as the Prescott Lions Club held its annual First Responder Appreciation Dinner.
First responders from across Nevada County showed up for the fish, fries, burgers and hot dogs. Entertainment was provided as was a drawing for door prizes. Prescott Police officer Alex Gamble chose to give a “speech” after his name was picked for one of the prizes.
The group, which included members of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Prescott Police Department, Prescott Fire Department, Arkansas State Police, Nevada County Ambulance Service, area volunteer fire departments and rescue units, enjoyed the respite and fellowship, though their radios were close at hand – just in case.
