PRESCOTT – The April meeting for the Mudpuppy and Waterdog Presentation on the development plan of “Prairie D’ Ane Battle Field Site” was canceled and rescheduled for Tuesday, May 23, at 6 p.m., in the Nevada County Courthouse, courtroom. The public is invited to attend, as is everyone that has an interest in the preservation, interpretation and development of this Historic property.

During this meeting, parts of the “Red River Campaign” which changed into “The Camden Expedition” will be discussed to include; Okolona, Terre D Noir’, Battle of the Bee’s, Battle of Elkins Ferry, Battle of Prairie D’Ane and The Battle of Moscow. Some of the local Historians and relic hunters have given interviews and information to Joe & Maria Brent of The Mudpuppy and Waterdog Inc. which have composed the presentation. The public will be able to ask questions and inquire about concerns during the meeting.

The goal is to preserve local history, preserve historic properties, create a place for Heritage Tourism, boost the local economy and promote opportunities for economic growth.  We feel this will help to attract business to our area via restaurant’s, lodging and other tourism opportunities. The site is ideal for tourism, and would be readily supported by historians.

The public is encouraged to support this endeavor by attending this meeting and ask this information be shared with others.
