Great turn out for Cross Roads VFD Hamburger Dinner
CROSS ROADS— There was a great turn out at the Cross Roads Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday night. The station hosted their semi-annual dinner. Being served were hamburgers and hotdogs along with a variety of homemade desserts.
While hamburgers and hot dogs were being served you could look at all the desserts that were to be auctioned off along with the desserts that were going to be given away during the cake walk. Sheriff James Singleton served as the auctioneer for the benefit. Desserts such as pies, cakes, and cookies were auctioned off all which were made by people within the Cross Roads community.
After the auction they held a cake walk, allowing guests to play a “musical chairs” themed game. Guests would walk around a circular path with numbers on each square. When the music stopped, a winning number would be drawn and the contestant standing on the winning number would receive the prized cake or dessert.
