Hope Lions Club Hears About Upcoming Cinco de Mayo Program

HOPE – The Hope Lions Club heard a great program on the first day of May about the upcoming Cinco de Mayo program set for Saturday May 6th at the President William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace Home National Historic Site.

The program begins at 10:00am Saturday with dancers from Our Good Lady of Hope Catholic Church. At 10:30am “Words of Manataka” will be presented by the American Indian Council. At 11:00am the program features “Ballet Folklorico Tacambaro Michoacan”.

At noon, there will be a flag ceremony, the national anthem, the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer. From 2:15 to 4:30pm there will be a variety of entertainment, including “La Huastequita”, “El Charro de Mexico”, Juan Ramirez, Daniel Torres, clowns and more.

The public is invited to the free event.

Making the presentation to the Lions were Porfirio Gutierrez, Christian Davis and Lion Eddie Garcia.
