HOPE- Hope Public Schools were happy to announce that they will be starting a new virtual learning system. A meeting took place Thursday night at Hempstead Hall to inform parents of what all would be offered and to explain how the virtual system would work. The courses would be provided by edmentum online. This new online system will be available for enrollment on Monday, May 22 for those in grades six-twelfth. Those interested in doing online course rather than being in a classroom setting are encouraged to enroll in the program. Students enrolled in the online classes will still graduate with the Hope Public School with the same diploma as those who are in a classroom setting. By doing online you can work at your own pace and you can also work year round if wanted, allowing you to graduate ahead of your predicted graduation date. It has been given an estimated four and half hours to complete course assignments a day, these hours can be separated throughout the day to fit your families schedule. Students will get one on one communication with their teachers, along with a curriculum and tests based on how they learn. This system will have 300 courses to choose from along with general education classes such as algebra, english, and social studies. They will also provide courses for foreign languages, such as Spanish, French, german, and more. By doing the virtual school your student will have the choice on course in fields that interest them, for example if student wants to go into nursing, courses will provided to help them learn more about that field of study. For more information about the virtual learning program you are welcome to contact Superintendent Bobby Hart at 870-722-2700 or go online to www.edmentum.com.
