Crawfish boil cancelled

CRAWFISH1PRESCOTT – Apologies to those who purchased tickets for the Prescott-Nevada Count Chamber of Commerce’s Crawfish Boil scheduled for Thursday evening, as the boil has been cancelled.

Jamie Hillery, executive director of the Chamber, said the boil was cancelled at the last minute when she found out Kris England and Crawdaddies wouldn’t be coming to Prescott as scheduled. According to Hillery,  she and England talked about the boil Wednesday and she was assured he would have crawfish for the boil. However, repeated calls from her to England Thursday, she continued, proved to be fruitless as she was unable to contact him and didn’t hear back until around 3 p.m. when she was told he wouldn’t be coming, but could have the boil Friday, May 26, instead.

“We had everything set up and decorated,” Hillery said, “and got the call he wouldn’t make it.” Now, she added, the Chamber will have to return the money for tickets, but will try to find another vendor and reschedule a crawfish boil for later on.

  1. Was a contract not signed with the vendor guaranteeing the vendor would be responsible for showing up and providing the crawfish? I would make the vendor pay for cancelling. Just not good business. But now the chamber has to pay the price. Get a contract next time.
