Fourth of July Celebration
HOPE- People started getting to the First United Methodist Church as early as 6:00 to get the best parking spot for the fireworks and to get into all the evening festivities for the 10th Annual Spirit of Hope Celebration. Others brought lawn chairs and blankets and set out in the front yard of the church to enjoy the show while listening to the evenings musical entertainment.
Pastor Steve of the First United Methodist Church started the evening with a word of prayer, followed by music performed by Bitsy Carter and Chad Morris. A bicycle parade was done by the kids who attended the event. They were able to decorate their bikes with flags and red, white, and blue before the parade began. Face painting, bubbles, and bounce houses were also available for the kids to enjoy. Kids played frisbee and football in the field while waiting on the fireworks to start along with visiting with family and friends. There were 50 sponsors for the nights festivities and the Hope Fire Department was present for the night. Mr. Don Still was over the firework performance of the evening. Vehicles lined the parking lots of the storage buildings and Townsend Outdoors along with being lined along the edges of the roads to be able to see the best firework show in town.
