Fire Department Receives Grant
HOPE- The Hope Fire Department received a grant today, July 18. The presentation of the grant was held at the Hope Fire Station. Each year CenterPoint Energy provides a total of 16 grants across the Arkansas and Oklahoma area. Those who apply for the grants are local and volunteer fire departments as well as police departments. The grants that are distributed are to go toward the needed safety equipment.
This grant was presented by CenterPoint Energy’s Brandon Brooks, the total amount received by the department was $1,500. Fire Chief, Dale Glanton stated that the money received in the grant will go toward supplying the department with new turn out gear. CenterPoint was happy to see the grant go to the Hope Department, because it is men and women who they get to work with.
Those who were present from CenterPoint consisted of Brandon Brooks, Billy McCorkle, Troy Ferrell, and Josh Lampkin. Those who were present on behalf of the Hope Fire Department were Fire Chief Dale Glanton and Deputy Fire Chief Todd Martin.
