Well-Known Local Watermelon Vendor Has A Full Load

HOPE – Well-known watermelon vendor Billy Braggs has a big load of melons for sale this week.

Braggs had long been a fixture on North Hazel near the old Wanda’s Grocery. This year he is set up across from the site of his usual spot in a shady, well-tended area.

Braggs says this load of melons is from Nevada County and he has red as well as yellow-meat as well. With several local farmers not growing this year, it’s good to see Braggs’ familiar face on North Hazel once again selling the favorite summer treat of Hope!
