Music in Our Roots
WASHINGTON- The Historic Washington State Park hosted the Silvey and McWilliams Family Bands in June followed by The Purple Hulls in July but to bring their Music in the Park series to an end Oksana Pavilionis performed August 19th on the steps of the 1874 courthouse.
The Ukraine artist moved to Arkansas five years ago. After moving to Arkansas she became the founder and director of the Ovation Music Academy located in Benton. In 2012 she was Musician of the Year from the Royal Players in Arkansas. At the academy she teaches students how to play the violin, piano, and also teaches group string lessons.
Performing on the steps of the courthouse her red flowing shirt swayed with the beat of the music. She performed songs from different countries such as France, Germany, and Russia where she studied the violin at the music school in Moscow.
